Whitty's first memory of music was around the age of 5 when he used to listen to old tapes and records round his Nan and Grandad's house, then eventually at home, when he was bought a CD and tapeplayer.

At around 9 years old, his love for music escalated, when he used to listen to the weekly chart show on Radio 1, and thus buying a lot of compilation albums and singles, from the 'Now' series to 'Club Mix CDs'

At around 12 years old, Whitty was getting into the UK Garage/Drum and Bass sounds. He was then introduced to a few pirate radio stations including Freeze and Flex FM, recording a lot of sets from the best DJs around onto tapes.

As his love for the music was growing, he eventually bought some turntables at the age of 17, learning the skills of how to mix, buying everything from Drum and Bass, Garage to Hip Hop/RnB. He has been to over 40 record shops over the years, picking up contacts and useful tips along the way.

At the age of 20, he upgraded to the legendary 1210 MK 2 turntables. Still in mint condition today, Whitty still loves his vinyl and will continue to try and keep vinyl alive!

His love for music is as strong as ever today, looking to snare the odd classic if available... He has played on 'Ice Cold FM' and is looking to stay on radio and push the underground music he loves today to the pub...

Dj Lakey is from northwest london and has been djing since i was sixteen , with my own style of mixing, he mixes the best in happy hardcore, uk garage, trance and house. He has played a few clubs and pubs over the years and also entertained a few crowds at some private functions and played on radio stations and worked in record shops.

I first became interested in music from about the age of 11. I remember playing the likes of "Ska & Blue beat" from artist such as Prince Buster, the Skatalites and Delroy Wilson . Being so young my interest in music was just so, until I reached the age of about 15-16. This was when dj'ing became more of a serious commitment for me I realized I wanted it to be more of a career move for me than just a hobby, but for now I was happy to pursue this as a fun past time. I would eagerly take up any and every opportunity to play at family or friends parties, weddings, birthdays and so on. This was how things stayed for me for about the next 5yrs or so, until an associate of a friend heard about me and my dj'ing and asked me to play a set at his venue playing twice a week on a regular basis. This was a huge step in the direction I wanted to go to take my love of music and share it with other people, now I was playing to everyday people who didn't know me all they knew was the sound I played and they liked it and that in turn confirmed for me that I was going in the right direction doing something that I really enjoyed.

My next move in the music world was to secure a spot at a local nightclub and shortly after that followed several bookings for me to play at other venues. During this time my circumstances changed and I began to start a family going on to have 4 beautiful children, which occupied almost all of my time and so dj'ing had to for the time being take a back seat although I always had it in my head to return to music when the time was right for me. It wasn't until about 8yrs later whilst doing a guest appearance set at a local wine bar I was fortunate enough to have a chance meeting with the manager of a radio station. He approached me and asked if I would like to play on his station "FLEX FM". I was excited to be given this opportunity especially after being off the scene for so long but at the same time apprehensive as this was a step in a completely different direction for me. At around the same time all this was happening I was invited by my sons godfather "Preacher Don" to join the Champagne Bubblers Sound system which was a big opportunity for me and one which I embraced to my fullest potential. I carried on with my new ventures for many years after and am now pleased to say I am now joining the world of internet radio playing @ upfrontsoundz.
